I'm glad you asked! Therapy is a private, safe, and comfortable setting in which you can share your thoughts, feelings, and life events with someone who is unbiased and non-judgemental. For 50 minutes at a time, you can work through difficulties to better prepare you for the challenges associated with your daily life.

If you've ever asked yourself this question - which I'm assuming you have seeing as you've found yourself here - the answer is yes. Even if you've never asked yourself this question, the answer is still likely yes. Things can get difficult sometimes, and whether such difficulties arise from overwhelming school and/or work obligations, a problematic relationsip, or an inability to cope with a difficult emotion, help can be found. Positive change is not only attainable, but always within reach.

In addition to providing you with a personal space to process your experiences, you can expect attending therapy to help with things such as improving your self-esteem and self-confidence, evaluating past behaviors and thinking patterns in order to foster new ones, develop new interpersonal skills, and enhance your understanding of yourself, your values, and your goals.

Every person is unique, as are the nature of the problems they are dealing with and how they find themselves impacted by them. As such, this is somewhat of a difficult question to answer specifically. In summary, you should expect to share elements of your life and history relevent to your presenting concerns, experiences, and hardships. You won't, however, be pressured to discuss or share something about yourself or your life before you feel ready to do so.

Appointments are typically approximately 50 minutes long.

This is largely dependent on you, your schedule, and your needs. Sessions are typically scheduled on either a weekly or bi-weekly basis. I tend to recommend weeky sessions at the start so that we can get to know each other and come to a common understanding of your presenting concerns a little quicker, but this is not a requirement.

A therapeutic relationship can last for weeks, months, years, or anywhere in between. At the end of the day, you choose when to start and you choose when to end.

Because I am not in-network with any insurance providers, I do not accept insurance directly. However, I will work with insurance companies on an out-of-network basis, and will provide documentation if necessary. Please see the Fees and Insurance page for more information.
